Our client, an international new media organization focusing on bringing immersive reality experiences to life, has an immediate need for Senior Systems Administrator in their Pennsylvania business unit (near Cranberry Township). In this role, the Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the company’s storage, network, and server infrastructure are well-engineered, maintained, and operated reliably. This position will provide hands-on administration, maintenance, and operations support for all the organization’s critical systems (local and cloud) and employee workstations.

The company delivers immersive video solutions that integrate with major broadcasters and digital partners, including the biggest sports media companies and leagues and various governmental agencies and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Administration of storage, network, and virtual infrastructure and core services (AD, DNS, DHCP, Deployment, Imaging, Updates, etc.)
  • System imaging, patching, OS hardening, software lifecycle, and upgrades across servers, employee workstations, and CCUs (Camera Control Units)
  • Perform regular systems and security monitoring, deploying, and managing tools to ensure that we are proactive and not reactive
  • Participate in employee onboarding/offboarding at the Pittsburgh, PA location and assist end users with Day-1 IT questions
  • Data lifecycle management from ingest to archive and unarchive, as needed
  • Create and maintain documentation for all assigned projects ex: as built and network diagrams
  • Update all project information and tracking in the company IT service management platform
  • Provide Tier 2 support assistance with multi-site ticket escalations and incident resolution that may include on-call rotation
  • This position may occasionally require working nights and/or weekends due to regular system maintenance, deployments, and emergencies.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years working as a Systems Administrator or similar functional role
  • Minimum of 7 years overall IT experience
  • Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and models
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of enterprise tier storage systems and file protocols
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of hyper-converged virtual infrastructure
  • System building, configuration, imaging, and deployment
  • Expert knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems
  • Comfortable working in a terminal/shell/command line environment
  • Familiarity with task automation and scripting (Powershell, Bash, Python, etc)
  • Experience with Apple endpoint management (ex: Apple Business Manager, Device Enrollment, Filewave, JAMF Pro, etc)
  • Expert level knowledge of Windows imaging, software deployment, and endpoint management (ex WDS, WSUS, SCCM/ECM, Intune etc)
  • Expert level knowledge of configuration management systems (Ansible preferred)
  • Familiarity with network configuration management (ex: Cisco Prime, Arista Cloudvision, etc)
  • Familiarity with system monitoring platforms (ex: LogicMonitor, Grafana, etc)
  • Familiarity with AWS services (ex S3, EC2, VPC, etc)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workload
  • Detailed, methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Comfortable switching between solo and collaborative tasks and projects
