Our client, an Executive Leader for a contemporary art museum in Downtown Los Angeles has an immediate need for an Executive Assistant. Qualified candidates must have progressive experience as a career Executive Assistant supporting an Executive and is knowledgeable and passionate about contemporary art from the 20th and 21st century.

In this role, the Executive Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Executive, who shapes the overall direction of the museum, is actively engaged in the global art landscape, and guides the growth of their collection. The Executive Assistant will also work collaboratively with all levels of management and staff, and serve as the Executive’s gatekeeper, liaison to artists, galleries, peer institutions, the board of directors, outside contractors, vendors, and VIP visitors.

Specific administrative duties include heavy calendar management / scheduling, proficient with complex domestic and international travel arrangements and itineraries, analytical engagement in art market research, written correspondence, answering phones, and creating data-driven presentations for meetings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive, high-level experience as an Executive Assistant supporting an Executive
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about contemporary art from the 20th and 21st century
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international arts patrons, funders, leaders, professionals, dealers and artists, or proven aptitude for comprehending quickly and operating within a complex network of high-level stakeholders
  • Exceptional ability to proactively and successfully organize, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple priorities, often on short deadlines; able to work within a dynamic and nimble environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Professional, discreet, and mature demeanor with the capacity to communicate effectively with leading figures in the art market and the museum world
  • Prior art museum experience and knowledge of museum operations, standards, practices, and procedures preferred
  • Prior knowledge of the contemporary art market, its calendar of events and major artists relevant to The Broad collection also preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in foreign languages is a huge plus.
