Our client, a music (K-pop) and mass media company has an immediate need for a DSP (Digital Service Provider) Streaming Director at their Los Angeles headquarters.

In this role the DSP Streaming Director will work in the R&R Department which is responsible for leading the company’s efforts in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with digital streaming platforms (DSPs) for optimal music distribution and promotion. In addition, the R&R Department develops and executes a comprehensive strategy to maximize the company’s presence on various DSPs, enhancing streaming numbers and revenue generation.

Responsibilities for the DSP Streaming Director

  • Manage the global DSP/ streaming dept KPI and reporting system.
  • Major Label Partnerships: Interface with major label partners and HQ teams to collaborate and drive global DSP and streaming strategies.
  • Lead the company’s efforts in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with digital streaming platforms (DSPs) for optimal music distribution and promotion.
  • Oversee a team of professionals responsible for pitching the company’s music catalog to DSPs, ensuring strong placements and visibility.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to maximize the company’s presence on various DSPs, enhancing streaming numbers and revenue generation.
  • Foster and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at DSPs, negotiating terms, securing playlist placements, and exploring promotional opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with A&R, marketing, and artist management teams to align music release schedules with DSP pitching strategies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, platform updates, and consumer behavior on DSPs, adapting strategies to capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Analyze data and metrics to measure the impact of DSP partnerships on the company’s performance, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Lead high-level discussions and negotiations with DSP representatives, advocating for the company’s artists and music in a competitive landscape.
  • Develop creative promotional campaigns and initiatives tailored to each DSP platform, maximizing engagement and visibility.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the creation of exclusive content and releases that resonate with DSP audiences and drive subscription growth.
  • Collaborate with legal and business affairs teams to ensure all agreements and partnerships are compliant and mutually beneficial.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand the company’s presence and influence in the music streaming space.
  • Manage budgets and resources related to DSP partnerships and pitching, optimizing investment for maximum return.
  • Regularly report to senior management on the progress, successes, and challenges of DSP partnerships and pitching efforts.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and motivated group focused on achieving ambitious goals.

Requirements for DSP Streaming Director

  • Must have previous experience with all responsibilities listed above at a Senior Manager or Director level.
  • K-Pop knowledge and background.
  • Must have existing relationships with DSPs.
  • English speaking, Korean a plus.
  • Ability to work 10 am to 7pm.
