No more monkey business

“From now on, every member of Congress must preface their floor remarks with the phrase, ‘Just to clear the deck, I own no monkeys.’” -Jon Stewart

The hot topic of monkeys over the last week prompted a comedic rant by The Daily Show’s, Jon Stewart during last nights episode.  With the collective controversy over the recent NY Post cartoon and the situation with the Connecticut women, Stewart attacked a different angle making fun of Congress deliberating, trying to ban access to the animals, which are sought for household companions.

Yes it was a touchy subject because of the massive injures the woman sustained from the attack and the NY Post ’stimulus bill monkey’ cartoon being considered by some as a racist depiction of our President Barack Obama.  But that’s what The Daily Show is all about; finding a lighter side to a serious controversial issue.

Congressman Rob Bishop states that he owns no monkeys, but he opposes the monkey transplant ban.  Jon Stewart wonders if there are bigger issue at to attend to at this time.  Take a look for yourself and be the judge.

Matt Suttner owns no monkeys either and the only Monkey Business he will be involved in is listening to the Black Eyed Peas cd.
